Tepary beans are native to the deserts of the south west where the native peoples had domesticated through selection this wild bean. The beans are typically planted in the heat of summer during the monsoon rains. Plants grow rapidly in the heat and produce very quickly in 2 months. The taste of these beans are exquisite very rich and smooth making excellent soups or hummus.
