One of the largest palms in the  world. It looks like a massive wine bottle.  But that's not where it gets It's Name. The natives in Chile would actually cut into the Palm tree and extract the sap and fermented into wine often draining the trees to their death leading to very small numbers of trees in its habitat. Nuts can be eaten like coconuts. Tree is hardy to 9F degrees
