This strange looking fruit from central America is known from Belize and neighboring countries. The tree is considered tropical but I would bet it could handle brief cold snaps, given that central America was somewhat colder during the last ice age. The fruit looks unusual, even for annonas, with its fur like tendrils on the skin. It also has a sweet, smooth and lemony taste.
