Also called the sabara jabotica it is widely grown in Brazil where it has legendary status. Often found as street trees or stately potted show pieces in the front of fine establishments. Unlike most fruit trees, jaboticabas fruit on the main trunk giving a show that is also delectable to eat. Very sweet with the perfect tang and complexity. Somewhat like eating grapes but it’s very unique. Trees reach a medium height and are hardy to the mid 20s at least.
