This fruit is a hybrid between a Spain cherimoya and a red Tikal custard apple. It has the best qualities of each of its parents, having the tootie fruity juicy tang of cherimoya and deep raspberry cheesecake richness of the reticulata making it a truly excellent fruit to eat. Pure reticulata really needs hot summers and warm winters whereas cherilata hybrid thrives and fruits with less heat. These scions can be grafted onto cherimoya, pond apple or annona montana and others.
