The name is given honor to the Mexican huastec people who cherish the fruit. Huastecorum fruits are used to make juices, jellies ice cream and liquors. And are also delicious eaten fresh. This species is in the griseus complex but is distinct in its flared crown and lesser number of ribs. Often confused with pruinosus, this species is half the width or less. Plants grow as tall columns and fruit copiously. You are buying a 1 foot cutting.
