Also known as the galloping cactus. Pitaya agria is present all throughout the baja peninsula and it fruits nearly all year. Long. The taste is sweet and acid with a rich raspberry sorbet flavor, loaded with pigment and vitamins. Fruits can be grapefruit sized and are relished by locals seasonally. The cactus has a habit of taking large strides or galloping and re-rooting where it touches.
