The guabiju is native to Argentina which is quite southern so it can handle a lot of chill even into the teens F. The attractive trees are fast to fruit at around 3 years from seed as well as tolerant of a wide range of soil types. This species is excellent to grow in a pot and in ground it can be kept small but will reach 20 feet on its own. The purple fruits are very sweet and tasty with a pleasant chewy texture. Overall is a must have for collectors and gardeners alike.
